Icecream Apps EPUB Reader

I’ve quite a few IT books in EPUB format, including my current study material for RHCSA certification, and I’ve struggled to find a viewer I’m happy with.

Using Chrome/Edge with an EPUB extension such as EPUBReader is ok, but it feels very clunky, offering only basic reading functionality and a frustrating UI. There’s also no way to highlight/annotate.

Calibre feels more geared towards newsfeeds and novel collectors, and while it has impressive library/metadata features, these aren’t particularly relevant to study guides. It too lacks any highlighting/annotation features.

Icecream on the other hand ticks all the right boxes. It has a nice clean UI, simple but effective Library section, and is very easy to use in terms of viewing/reading.

But the main reason I really like Icecream EPUB reader is the Notes feature. Dead easy to highlight lines/paragraphs and add personal notes, which get saved to a Notes section with automatic headings. From here, you can export to a nicely formatted HTML file for easy, condensed review. It’s the perfect way to create your own study notes from any book you’re studying.

So if you’re looking for an EPUB reader for IT/certification study, I’d highly recommend checking out Icecream Apps EPUB Reader.
